Description
Role
The post holder will join the ELTU during its busy July and August summer school period, predominantly to support with weekend airport transfers for its short course programmes. There may be the occasional requirement to support with admin tasks during the week and attend daytime and evening events. We would advise of these additional dates in advance.
Duties and responsibilities
•Collect International Summer Programme students from London Heathrow or Birmingham Airports and bring them back to the University of Leicester on the coach.
Skills and experience
Essential
•*A current student or recent Graduate of the University of Leicester
•*A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent qualification, or with equivalent skills and experience
•*Ability to get to and from the University of Leicester for early morning/late starts and finishes as required
•*A basic understanding of and empathy with the needs of international students
•Cultural awareness
•The ability and desire to work with students from a range of nationalities and backgrounds
•*The ability and confidence to liaise with external organisations such as suppliers, partner universities and agents
•*The ability to work independently and as part of a team and willingness to make a positive contribution to wider team activity
•*Excellent timekeeping, organisational skills and attention to detail
•*Willingness and ability to undertake work outside normal working hours, e.g. attending evening or weekend events, occasional early starts on registration days or for airport pick-ups
•An understanding of the importance of excellent customer service
•Energy, enthusiasm and resourcefulness and the ability to work under pressure
•Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
•Flexibility and proactivity
Desirable
•Experience of studying or living in a different country
