Role
As a Postgraduate Student Advisor, and working within a team of Advisors, your role will be to support and inform the School of Museum Studies’ Inclusive Assessment pedagogic research project by undertaking a review of our assignment practices and current accessible curriculum guidance in relation to assessment. The hours can mostly be undertaken flexibility over the period of the contract (2.5 weeks) but you will be invited to attend one online research workshop in early July 2025. The workshop will be organised around your wider commitments as far as possible, and alternative ways of engaging will be provided if needed. Participation in the online workshop will also be subject to your express consent as it forms part of a pedagogic research project.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Review of approaches and guidance used by the distance learning team in the School of Museum Studies to create accessible assessments.
  • Prepare for and attend a 2 hour online workshop (or equivalent) to generate insights into students’ experiences of postgraduate distance learning assessment at the University of Leicester.
  • Provide updates and ensuring adequate communication with project members as required

Skills and experience
Essential

  • UK based candidates only and have right to work in the UK
  • Experience (lived or learned) of disability, neurodiversity, or long-term health conditions in relation to distance learning (or similar) study and assessment in the School of Museum Studies
Desirable
  • Experience of distance learning assessments (for example, assignment planning or assignment writing and completion) as part of a postgraduate programme in the School of Museum Studies
