Description
Role
*Ringfenced to LJMU Students who have completed their level 6 dissertation or recent graduates (up to 2 years)*
Working with Dr Kezia Barker in the Geography and Environmental Science Research group, School of Biological and Environmental Sciences. The role involves providing research assistance for a project investigating foraging and wild plant use in Merseyside and the North West region. Adopting a critical social science perspective, we will be investigating what these practices can tell us about public understandings of human-nature connections, experiences of climate change and concerns about environmental futures.
Duties and responsibilities
Research and research administration tasks that may include:
- Literature searches and academic reference management.
Skills and experience
- Experience of qualitative research approaches.
- Ability to use online questionnaire software.
- Organisational skills (e.g. record keeping of online searches; spreadsheet of contacts).
- Ability to conduct literature searches and use zotero/reference manager (or willingness to learn).
- Willingness to undertake interviews or attend foraging events if needed.
- Ability to work independently.
