Role

We invite applications for one Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology Research Assistant positions at Warwick Business School.

Successful candidates will join the newly launched FutureFinance.AI Research Group. The new Research Group will draw interdisciplinary scholars and thinkers from across the world to redefine and innovate the financial and property technology landscape. The focus of the research group is on the use of AI, machine learning, and data science in the emerging fintech and proptech sectors. 

The FutureFinance.AI Research Group is based in the Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology, whose primary mission is to conduct world-class, cutting-edge research at the intersection of finance and technology. The Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology organizes several academic and industry conferences, workshops, and seminars throughout the year. Successful applicants will be able to join these activities and engage with leading researchers at the Centre.

Duties and responsibilities

Research (70%)

  • Assist with the delivery of high-quality research of practical relevance proptech. 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support research projects and initiatives.
  • Support the publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and seminars.
  • Using AI and data science, work with partners to design new solutions for problems in fintech and proptech and scale them up.
  • Continue to update knowledge and develop skills.

Contribute to building the new FutureFinance.AI Research Group (30%)

  • Establish and maintain relationships with researchers, industry professionals, and other stakeholders in the fintech and proptech sectors.
  • Assist with the organization of conferences, workshops, and networking events to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote the FutureFinance.AI Research Group and the Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology and its initiatives through various channels, including social media and academic publications.

Skills and experience

We invite applicants with research interests aligned with those of the FutureFinance.AI Research Group and an ability to contribute to research targeting top tier business and interdisciplinary journals. Applicants should be educated to undergraduate or postgraduate level in Business, Finance, FinTech, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics or a related discipline.

Strong quantitative and programming skills, fluency in English, and excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
