Role
This role supports the Stanley Burton Centre for Holocaust and Genocide Studies (SBC) to enable a higher social media and overall outreach profile and visibility for the SBC to ‘build critical mass’ (students, Postdocs, new affiliated members) which will lead to grant applications/income.

 
Working hours: Variable, 100 hours total over duration of post

Duties and responsibilities
Regular posting of news and events on the Stanley Burton Centre’s social media accounts 

Producing and circulating emails and newsletters 
Updating the SBC website with relevant information 
Planning events for the SBC 
Administrative support in organising SBC events and activities  

Skills and experience
Essential

•Ability to demonstrate behaviours that are in accordance with the University values of inclusive, inspiring and impactful.
•Effective planning and organising of own allocated work activities/tasks with minimum day to day supervision (with guidance).
•Initiative and judgment to resolve many problems independently.
•Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing* to ensure effective social media engagement and assistance in organising events.
•Experience in social media engagement *
•MA degree, or equivalent
•Enrolled in PhD programme with thematic relevance to the Centre’s research profile*
 
Desirable
•Experience in social media engagement in an academic context
•Experience of planning events and keeping to a budget

Location
University of Leicester main campus (some work may be a able to be done remotely)
