Role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Project Support Officer to assist with a small scale project relating to the identification and implementation of trainee teachers reasonable adjustments within school-based placement. This is a short-term opportunity, ideal for someone who can start immediately and commit to approximately 40 hours of work over the course of a month.

This role is particularly well suited to a Postgraduate Researcher (PGR) looking to gain practical experience in project coordination and stakeholder engagement within a professional services environment. 

The Project Support Officer will play a key role in ensuring effective data collection, coordination, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be confident communicating with diverse stakeholders, have strong organisational skills, and be able to summarise complex information into clear, accessible formats.

Duties and responsibilities

Communication and Engagement:

  • Draft and distribute clear, professional emails to a wide range of school-based staff.
  • Track responses and follow up with individuals to ensure a high response rate.
  • Collate and summarise responses in a user-friendly, accessible format for internal use.

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Plan and organise a face-to-face event for Professional Mentors (PMs) on campus.
  • Manage Logistics including room bookings, parking arrangements, refreshments, and lunch.
  • Liaise with Business Administration colleagues to confirm and manage release costs for attending PMs.
  • Ensure attendees receive timely and accurate information related to the event.

Meeting Support and Reporting:

  • Attend and take structured notes during the PM meeting, capturing key themes and ideas discussed.
  • Produce a thematic summary in an accessible format to reflect PM input and highlight emerging trends.
  • Combine findings from the questionnaire and meeting to produce a clear, concise report.
  • Develop actionable recommendations based on data analysis and stakeholder feedback for future implementation. 

Skills and experience

  • Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting professional correspondence.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities with experience coordinating events or meetings.
  • Proven ability to collate and summarise data into accessible and digestible formats.
  • Competency in note-taking and summarising key themes into cohesive overviews or reports.
  • Confident working independently and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
