Duties and responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive part-time Finance Assistant to join our busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in accounting and finance who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can hit the ground running with minimal training.

 
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Supplier Communication: Managing and responding to supplier emails, resolving queries efficiently and professionally, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Credit Card Reconciliation: Processing and reconciling company credit card receipts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and coded.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations, identifying and investigating discrepancies promptly.
  • Invoice Processing: Assisting with the accurate and timely processing of purchase invoices.
  • Expense Management: Supporting the processing and reconciliation of employee expenses.
  • General Finance Support: Providing ad-hoc administrative support to the finance department as required.

Skills and experience

  • A degree in Accounting and Finance, Business, or a related field, OR a strong background in finance/accounting with demonstrable experience.
  • Proven experience in a finance administrative or assistant role is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is paramount.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with accounting software packages (e.g., Xero, Sage) is beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and independent approach, with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • A genuine desire to learn and contribute to the success of the finance team.
