Role
The Maintenance Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. Our client is a Student Accommodation provider and is needing support over the summer to get ready for the next intake of students.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Supervise and support junior staff during maintenance tasks, providing guidance as needed.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify potential maintenance needs.
- Perform welding tasks as required for repairs or modifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing maintenance-related inquiries from staff and management.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimise disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
Skills and experience
Basic maintenance skills in a variety of disciplines (Essential)
- Familiarity with Fire and Health and Safety procedures (Essential)
- Ability to use relevant tools and equipment (Essential)
- Knowledge and experience of cleaning methods and systems (Desirable)
- ICT skills in operating computer based systems e.g. entering data and retrieving information
