Description
Role
The University of Edinburgh’s Information Services Group (ISG) invites applications from undergraduate students interested in working this summer as one of two Service Catalogue Interns. The key purpose of this role is to gather information from Service Owners and update the Technical and Business sections of the ISG Service Catalogue, a portfolio of the IT, Library and eLearning services available in ISG; as well as delivering Service Management support for the IT Services and Enterprise Architecture teams.
Within this role, you will gain practical experience in researching and adding information to the Service Catalogue, linking data between related topics and running reports on service measurements. The skills you will develop by completing this internship include effective verbal and written communication, stakeholder management and high attention to detail. You will join the IT Services team, who are responsible for delivering the Service Catalogue. The team offers support and advice on Service Management best practice, and work in partnership with the Enterprise Architecture team, who design the overall framework for the University’s administrative IT services.
You can expect to start work on the 30th June 2025 and work until the 5th September 2025, with an outlook to continuing on reduced hours in the 2025-26 academic year. You will work between a minimum of 16 to a maximum of 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) in a hybrid working pattern, split between working from home (commutable distance from Edinburgh) and in Argyle House. Your preference on working hours within the above range can be discussed during the interview stage. You will be paid £12.83 per hour, plus £2.32 per hour holiday pay. Payment is one month in arrears, meaning your first payment date (should this position start when expected) will be 28th August 2025.
For more information on what to expect as an ISG Summer Intern and to hear from previous interns, please see our ISG Student Employment website.
