Unitemps are recruiting for a UCL Accommodation Welcome Co-ordinator Ambassador Lead.This role is for a June 23rd start date and has a projected end date of October 19th 2025. This is a full time role at 36.5 hours per week. Payment is set at £16.53 per hour + holiday pay. This role will be hybrid working with 3 days per week from UCL campus and the rest from home.
Main purpose of the job
- Support the delivery of the Welcome Programme in UCL Accommodation, by leading the ambassador element of the Welcome Programme. This will involve managing and coordinating the student ambassadors. During the lead up to September, the Marketing, Communication & Experience (MC&E) Team recruit and train a team of approximately 200 temporary part-time Campus Experience Ambassadors (CEAs) and Team Leaders (TLs).
- Deliver and distribute printed welcome materials across UCL Accommodation sites.
- Support and build the partnership between the MC&E Team and colleagues in UCL Accommodation, working to deliver an outstanding student experience in halls.
- The postholder will bring creativity and a fresh perspective to improving the student experience within UCL Accommodation.
- The role requires excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to demonstrate initiative, and the capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Duties and responsibilities
- Lead on the recruitment process of approximately 200 Campus Experience Ambassadors (CEAs) and Team Leaders (TLs).
- Develop and deliver ambassador induction and ambassador training in partnership with colleagues in UCL Accommodation as well as the wider university.
- Foster a strong customer experience focus within the Ambassador Team and lead from the front during the Welcome period.
- Ensure the Ambassador Team delivers an outstanding experience to students moving into halls and throughout the Welcome period.
- Co-ordinate the day-to-day delivery of the Welcome Programme and provide day-to-day supervision and support to the CEAs and TLs digitally and in-person.
- Travel across campuses and halls to monitor the project progress as well as conduct spot checks to ensure tasks are being performed by the Ambassador Team.
- Conduct regular check in, development and disciplinary conversations with CEAs and TLs, escalating to managers where necessary.
- Create and manage team staffing schedules, balancing efficient staffing levels alongside the delivery of a positive student experience.
- Track budget, staff hours, and monitor and process staff timesheets.
- Problem-solve, flag and escalate issues to managers as necessary.
- Work closely with the MC&E Team and colleagues across the department on projects which will require ambassador involvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and project delivery with the viewpoint of developing the Welcome Programme for future years
Skills and experience
- Education to A level standard (Grade C or above) or equivalent other qualifications. - Essential
- Knowledge of UCL, UCL Accommodation and a passion for improving the student experience. - Essential
- Experience working to deadlines, as well as managing and delivering projects. - Essential
- Proven ability to work with or recruit, train, and manage a temporary part time workforce, ensuring high standards and performance levels. - Desirable
- Experience creating a complex staffing rota for a large team across multiple sites. - Desirable
- Previous experience working in project coordination, events, ResLife, or similar - Desirable.
