The internship role will predominantly sit within the Production department, working directly under myself to support the day-to-day running of operations. This is a hands-on role that will provide valuable insight into how a sportswear brand functions behind the scenes. The intern will be involved in a range of tasks including assisting with production processes, learning how to liaise with suppliers, and supporting the team in ensuring timelines and quality standards are met. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with the Marketing team and attend internal meetings, giving the intern a well-rounded understanding of how various departments come together to bring a product to market. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to gain real industry experience in a fast-paced and creative environment.
Duties and responsibilities
This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a university student to gain hands-on experience within the Production department of a growing sportswear brand. The primary purpose of the role is to support the day-to-day operations involved in bringing products from concept to final delivery, while developing a practical understanding of production workflows in the fashion and sportswear industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with production tracking and timeline management.
- Supporting the creation and updating of tech packs and product specs.
- Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers regarding samples, orders, and materials.
- Helping with quality control checks and sample reviews.
- Organising and maintaining production documentation and databases.
- Providing general administrative support to the production team.
- Attending relevant meetings to observe cross-department collaboration and communication.
- Occasionally supporting the marketing team with product-related tasks.
This role is ideal for students studying fashion, textiles, or a related subject who are eager to learn how a sportswear brand operates and contributes to the product development cycle from a production standpoint.
Skills and experience
This role is designed for Level 5 or 6 undergraduate students studying Fashion, Textiles, Product Design, or a related discipline. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organised, and eager to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced production environment.
- Adobe Creative Suite proficiency – particularly Illustrator, for supporting with tech packs and product visuals.
- Strong organisational skills – able to manage multiple tasks, keep track of samples and timelines, and maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication skills – both written and verbal, with the confidence to engage with internal teams and external suppliers.
Additional requirements:
- Access to their own laptop is desired but alternative plans can be implemented to cater for students.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
