Who We’re Looking For

Are you the kind of person who can rally your mates for a kickabout, lead a walking group with good vibes and good chat, or make even the most gym-shy student feel like they belong?

If so, congrats – you might just be our next Community Leader.

This isn’t about being a fitness guru or a sporting superstar. It’s about being approachable, enthusiastic, and the kind of person who makes others say: “Hey, I’d give that a go.”

You’ll help build the fun, feel-good, inclusive culture we’re all about at LJMU. From leading a chill walking session to supporting socials or casual drop-in games, you’ll be the friendly face that gets people moving and feeling great.

Help plan and run relaxed, low-pressure activities where everyone feels like they can get stuck in

• Set the tone—bring the energy, the good vibes, and maybe even the playlist• Keep us in the loop with how sessions are going

 • Chat with the Physical Wellbeing & Engagement Manager to share feedback, ideas, or just a quick debrief

• Help us keep things safe, inclusive, and respectful

Skills and experience

What You Bring to the TableWe’re not asking for a trophy cabinet or a personal best in the 100m. We’re after good people with good energy. Here’s what we love to see:
A passion for getting people active (even if that just means convincing your mates to try Kayaking once)
Confident talking to new people and getting them involved
Happy to take the lead or support a session—either way, you’re there to make it great
Open to training—we’ll give you the tools, you just bring the attitude
A good communicator A natural motivatorencouraging, supportive, and low-key inspiring
