Role

We are currently seeking one or two Research Assistants to support activities of the Sales Excellence Hub (https://www.linkedin.com/company/sales-excellence-hub). The Sales Excellence Hub aims to connect sales research with sales practice by organizing impact events, a yearly study, and further knowledge translation activities to the sales profession.

The role comprises activities supporting the Sales Excellence Hub in conducting its activities such as event preparation and academic knowledge translation. A key activity of the research assistant will be to support the yearly study assessing the sales of the UK sales profession by supporting the survey generation and data collection. Furthermore, the research assistant should support the Sales Excellence Hub in its communication with practice and dissemination of knowledge in social media channel (e.g., LinkedIn).

Duties and responsibilities

1. Event Preparation:

  • Assist in planning and organizing events hosted by the Sales Excellence Hub.
  • Support in preparing and distributing event materials and resources.

2. Survey Generation and Data Collection:

  • Support the design and development of the survey for the annual State of Sales study
  • Coordinate the data collection
  • Analyse the data (mostly descriptive) and support in creating the State of Sales Report 2025

3. Academic Knowledge Translation:

  • Support in translate academic research into formats for practitioner audiences.

4. Communication with Practice:

  • Support the communication between the Sales Excellence Hub and industry practitioners.
  • Manage the Sales Excellence Hub’s LinkedIn account and update its website

Skills and experience
Ideal candidates are Ph.D. students who are motivated to contribute to research impact projects and practitioner-focused research. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in survey design (ideally Qualtrics) and proficiency in data analysis using descriptive and simple diagnostic statistical methods. We are looking for candidates with strong skills in presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint) and the ability to analyse data using statistical software (R, Stata, SPSS).
