Role
Bioscience and Geography at Gloucestershire have a longstanding reputation nationally for consistently high student satisfaction and internationally excellent research. That success is driven in part by the support we provide to our students and staff. We are seeking capable, personable University of Gloucestershire students who will be at Level 5 or above in September 2025 on one of our Bioscience or Geography taught or research-based courses to support our taught provision, on campus and/or in the field.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supporting new students during induction and across the first semester
- Supporting the safe and effective running of large laboratory practicals
- Advising students and problem solving within GIS practicals
- Advising students and problem solving within non-GIS data analysis/visualisation practicals
- Short to long-term notice support to individual disabled students on field days and/or residential field trips
Skills and experience
Essential:
- good (60% or above) average module marks at Level 4 or above to date
- excellent communication skills
- collaborative, cooperative and pro-active approach to work, with a track record of working to a high standard
Desirable:
- good skills in Excel, R, ArcGIS and/or QGIS

Dress code - On Campus: casual, though no open-toed footwear in laboratories. Fieldwork: dressed for all weathers (no jeans), including walking boots
