Description

Role

Academic Services team for a short-term opportunity during the busy summer graduation period. This is a key support role within the Student Lifecycle team, ensuring the efficient preparation and dispatch of graduation certificates, transcripts and related documentation.

This role offers an excellent chance to contribute to one of the most important periods in the student journey—graduation. As part of a dedicated and supportive team, you will help to deliver a smooth and professional service to students completing their degrees at one of the UK’s top research-led universities.

Please note that, due to the nature of the work, we are unable to accept applications from current University of Leicester students.

Duties and responsibilities

As a Graduation Documentation Assistant, you will provide essential support for the production and quality control of graduation documentation. Your duties will include sorting, checking and enveloping certificates and transcripts, preparing documents for both home and international students, and reviewing content for the degree congregation brochure. You may also assist in preparing student tickets and responding to basic queries from students, staff, and external stakeholders.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Student Lifecycle team and other key departments including Student Records, Quality, and Fees and Income. The role also involves supporting general administrative tasks to aid both the graduation process and the upcoming start of term. You will be expected to follow agreed procedures and ensure high standards of accuracy and confidentiality are maintained throughout.

Skills and experience

We are looking for candidates with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks under pressure and to tight deadlines. You should be confident using IT systems and capable of handling large volumes of data with care and accuracy. Experience working in a higher education environment is desirable, though not essential, as full training will be provided.

You will need to work well as part of a small team and demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach. Familiarity with university systems such as SITS would be an advantage, but again, this is not a requirement.

Main Campus, University of Leicester
