Role

 
Our client is a provider of Corporate Performance Management (CPM) solutions to FTSE250-scale multi-national organisations. They help companies transform data from transactional systems into meaningful insights.
 
They are offering a 3 month internship for a University of Staffordshire Graduate where you will design and deliver a portfolio of windows-based cloud applications using technology from OneStream Software, Microsoft and Oracle. At 3 months for the right candidate there is a full time job with clear development plan available.
 
A Support Analyst is primarily responsible for dealing with in-bound application and technical support calls, emails or portal entries logged by our supported clients. Typical support work may include dealing with application queries, errors or malfunctions, addressing technical environment issues or troubleshooting the root cause of an issue in liaison with the customer and/or senior members of our team. You will be responsible for managing your own work effort under the supervision of a Managed Services Consultant.
 

Duties and responsibilities

Application and Technical Support

A Support Analyst will support client initiatives in the following capacity:

  • Work with other team members to gain an understanding of our clients’ systems and business processes.
  • Provide sound application and technical support to the client and apply this expertise in the context of the client’s environment.
  • Liaise with necessary client, Concentric or vendor partner contacts to ensure speedy resolution of client issues and suitable management of expectations.
  • Escalate application and technical support issues that require additional support from either client contacts or other Concentric team members.
  • Assist in producing and maintaining application and/or support documentation and transfer knowledge to the client team under the direction of other Concentric Solutions team members.

Application Management

A Support Analyst may be asked to undertake application maintenance activities under the guidance of a Managed Services Consultant. They will be expected to be capable of managing their own work effort in accordance with Concentric Solutions’ methodology and industry good practice. This includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

  • Develop application changes that are simple in nature.
  • Identify scope of work with your manager or a Lead Consultant to determine impact of implementing the changes, ensuring sign-off from the customer before commencing work.
  • Provide regular written and verbal communications using an appropriate and professional communication style.
  • Assist in the preparation of client incident reports, updating Support systems with due record of progress, findings and open actions.

Skills and experience

 
An individual suitable for this role will generally have a profile aligned with the following attributes:
 
Education
 
  • A degree discipline that offers qualifications in fields such as (but not limited to) Business, Finance, Economics or Mathematics.
  • No previous work experience is necessary. All training and development required to be competent in the role will be provided
  • You must have an interest in IT Systems and processes

PROFILE

Ideal candidates will be great communicators with an appreciation for the importance of excellent customer service.

  • You will be able to work independently and as a key member of our Managed Services Team.
  • You will be organised and have an aptitude for breaking complex problems down into simple work packages and explanations.
  • You will also be capable of working with relational database concepts and technologies e.g. SQL.
  • You will have a basic understanding of programming concepts (VB.net, Python);
