Role
Student & Academic Services are looking for a Student Course Administrator to join them on a temporary basis.
Duties and responsibilities
Customer Service
• To deal with a wide range of general enquiries from students and staff, supplying information or referring the query on as appropriate.
• Provide a helpful, polite service to all callers
• To deliver the highest level of customer service to all the School’s stakeholders
Student Advice and Administration
• To be pro-active in handling enquiries and actively support students to ensure that customer needs are always met and that high service standards are adopted
• To respond accurately to student enquiries (email, phone, MS Teams) within agreed timescales.
• To act as the first point of contact for student enquiries
• To provide accurate, thorough and informative information for all enquiries
• To work with the undergraduate team and other School colleagues when dealing with complex student and prospective enquiries ensuring a quick response within agreed timescales
• To maintain clear lines of communication between the School and students, distributing information about course activities, events, regulations, university facilities and other matters via the most appropriate methods
• To provide appropriate letters and documentation to students
• To use the student records system (SITS), accessing student details as required in response to enquiries from student and / or School colleagues
• Liaise with Course Officers to co-ordinate the creation and maintenance of student files and recording of data
Team Support
Providing the following support to the Course Officers or Senior Course Officer
• To support the postgraduate team with data entry and updating information on the student records system (SITS) and Moodle.
• To receive manage the role account inbox and respond to enquiries
• To provide administrative support for the inputting of assessment marks
• To provide administrative support for the production of transcript requests
• To provide administrative support for the taking of minutes
• To provide administrative support to quality assurance reviews and processes.
School Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• To carry out School specific duties as required including Student DBS ID verification.
General Administration
• To provide cover during the absence of other Administrators as required.
• To undertake general administrative tasks as required
• To assist with the administration of various projects
Skills and experience
Knowledge:
• Educated to A ‘Level, equivalent
Essential Skills:
• Able to demonstrate commitment to a high standard of customer service.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent numeracy skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Generally confident in the use of IT systems; specific competence in the use of MS Office packages
• Ability to navigate a records database
• Ability to analyse problems and identify potential solutions.
• Team working skills.
