Description
Role
We have an exciting opportunity for University of Salford students to join the IT department as IT technicians.
The role will involve helping with the maintenance of teaching spaces along with working on patch management of machines across the campus at different buildings.
Duties and responsibilities
- To work through Lapse Lockers on a regular basis using a predefined schedule to switch on machines
- Update machines using the standard MS Update function and update/scan within a piece of software called Tanium
- Receive guidance from Senior Technicians to help with the maintenance of teaching spaces across the campus
Skills and experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field- Desirable
- Basic understanding of computer hardware components and their functionality - Essential
- Previous exposure to desktop support or IT support roles is advantageous but not essential
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team- Essential
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach - Essential
- A common sense approach and ability to follow detailed instructions- Essential
