THE ROLE
On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Personal Assistant to work 3 hours per week, on-going basis to support a young individual with additional needs.
We are looking for a a compassionate, enthusiastic and flexible individual who can aid our client become more independent supervise them outside their home, daily life and interaction with others.
The clients interests are with Japanese language and Japanese culture, computers and classic animation.

Duties and responsibilities
- Provide physical and emotional support to enable the client to participate in various activities, such as:
- Accompanying the client on activities outside the home e.g. the cinema, lunch, museums, galleries, and other places of interest
- Supporting the client on walks and outdoor activities
- Assist with daily living tasks like meal preparation and eating, and basic household chores
- Encourage and support the client in developing independence, confidence, and life skill
- Provide emotional support and companionship, promoting a sense of well-being and self-worth
- Take responsibility for his safety when outdoors mostly through verbal prompts and anticipating hazards
Skills and experience
- Experience of working with individuals with disabilities (physical and/or learning)
- Ability to provide physical support and assistance with daily living tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and understanding of autism
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Ability to work independently
- Basic first aid knowledge
- Qualifications in care or a related field or studying for degree in relevant subject e.g social work (e.g., NVQ, Diploma in Health and Social Care)
- Knowledge of disability awareness and the social model of disability
- Understanding of sensory processing issues particularly noise avoidance
- Ability to engage with his subjects of special interest in conversation
- Compassionate and empathetic approach
- Patient and understanding, with a calm and gentle manner
- Ability to build trust and rapport with the individual and their family
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to respond to changing needs and circumstances
- Respectful of the individual's autonomy, dignity, and confidentiality
