THE ROLE
On behalf of our Leicester Client, we are seeking to recruit a Technical Assistant for the Lvl 1 Venue within the DSU. We are looking for a candidate who can work on Monday 2ndMarch to Friday 6th March from 10am to 3pm to be considered for this role.
The primary responsibility will be to assist Venue’s Management with the operation of DSU, and Lvl1 technical equipment for a range of events that we hold.
The hours vary, include both daytime and night time (including some of the late night) shifts and are flexible to work around your study schedule.
Shifts vary primarily across Monday to Saturday evenings; some daytime and Sunday work may be required.
Expected start date: ASAP
Expected end date: TBC
Rate of pay: £12.21
Holiday Pay: £1.47
Duties and responsibilities
- Work independently and part of a team to ensure sound and lighting throughout the course of an event is smoothly run.
- Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of DSU’s technical equipment.
- Effectively work with promotors and DJs to ensure an excellent atmosphere for events.
- • Comply with the relevant safety requirements, undertaking training as required to fulfil your duties.
- Assist with the set-up and pack down of event décor, and furniture.
- Work unsociable hours including late nights and weekends.
- Have a personal responsibility to work in a safe environment through maintenances, cleanliness and housekeeping standards ensuring that any faults, problems, issues, accidents, or incidents are reported to the manager on duty.
- Identify and communicate improvements in processes to the Venue’s Management
- Have some knowledge in the till system for the bar.
- Occasionally be responsible for the opening and closing of the building.
Skills and experience
- Previous experience in a similar role is necessary.
- Excellent Knowledge in setting up and using lighting equipment for events, concerts, live music performances, and willingness to learn.
- Preferred experience with Avloites Titan lighting desks (or equivalent).
- Preferred experience with Beringher digital audio desks (or equivalent). This includes knowledge of wireless audio.
- Knowledge in setting up and using sound equipment for events, concerts, live music performances, and willingness to learn.
- Experience in working both as a team and alone to achieve a goal
- Methodical approach to working and troubleshooting technical challenges during an event
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm whilst working under pressure
- Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
- Be a reliable and trustworthy person
- Willingness to undertake training require for the role
- Adaptable and flexible approach to upcoming challenges
- Ability to work unsociable hours
- Friendly attitude and ability to communicate effectively with others
