Young Barnet Foundation (YBF) is a membership movement supporting children and young people’s charities and community groups in the London Borough of Barnet. Through partnerships like Barnet Together, we work to strengthen and empower the local voluntary sector. We are looking for a proactive and passionate Community Fundraising & Communications Intern to help develop and drive YBF’s community fundraising strategy. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising, relationship management, campaign development, and communications within the charity sector.
Duties and responsibilities
- Community Fundraising Resource Development: Build a volunteer-led community fundraising resource to support our initiatives.
- Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relationships with community fundraising‘ champions’ while providing excellent supporter care.
- Fundraising Campaigns & Events: Plan, develop, and deliver new community fundraising products, campaigns, and events that engage key stakeholders, including members, donors, and volunteers.
- Marketing & Communications Support: Working with the Comms & Marketing team to promote community fundraising efforts, creating content for social media, e-communications, webpages, and fundraising packs.
Skills and experience
- A current student or recent graduate with an interest in fundraising, communications, or the charity sector.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Some experience or knowledge of fundraising, community engagement, or marketing is desirable but not essential.
