Unitemps are acting as an Employment Business, supplying temporary workers, in relation to this vacancy.
Equation run two universal school-based programmes, The GREAT Project (Good Relationships are Equal And Trusting) for primary schools, and Equate for secondary schools. Both initiatives fulfil numerous RSE education requirements and reach thousands of young people across Nottinghamshire and beyond each year. The role would also include the delivery of 60-90-minute Twilights (teacher training sessions).
Our schools’ projects ensure all children and young people who participate have access to healthy relationships and domestic abuse awareness education.
The amount of school work can vary throughout the academic year
Due to the nature of the projects, a commitment to safeguarding children & young people is vital for these roles and this must be evident in the application. Equation follows strict safer recruitment guidelines, and all candidates will be subject to DBS and reference checks prior to appointment.
A willingness and ability to travel is vital for this role as it will involve travelling to various schools all around Nottingham City and County. Sessions can start as early as 8:30am in some schools and we work in lots of schools in the following areas:
- Nottingham City
- Ashfield
- Mansfield
- Rushcliffe
- Broxtowe
- Other areas, including Derbyshire

Duties and responsibilities
- Support the delivery of our healthy relationships sessions/projects to children and young people whether this be in Primary School or Secondary School (see above).
- You will be a Co-Facilitator in which supports the Lead-Facilitator to deliver the sessions.
- You will work closely with the Lead-Facilitator in planning and preparing for the delivery this can include prep meetings prior to the day of delivery.
- You will support the Lead Facilitator in receiving safeguarding disclosures.
- If you receive a safeguarding disclosure you will pass this onto the Lead Facilitator to manage.
- Observation of class during delivery and passing on any concerns to the Lead Facilitator.
Skills and experience
- Experience with working with children and/or young people.
- Awareness and understanding of safeguarding, this includes safeguarding policies.
- Awareness and understanding of domestic abuse, healthy and unhealthy relationships and how this impacts children and young people.
- Facilitating group discussions and communication skills
- Presentation skills and classroom based delivery (not mandatory)
- Understanding and respecting cultural, social, and individual differences
- Subject to Enhanced DBS and Reference Checks
