Role

The Admissions Department are looking for enthusiastic staff to help with the University's Clearing process. As a front line clearing operator, the work will involve taking enquiries from applicants looking to secure a place onto an undergraduate course starting in September 2025 at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Admissions delivers a high quality service to applicants and the University community. Within the institution, our commitment is to work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments in providing advice, information, and support in all aspects of the applicant journey.

Duties and responsibilities
1. To process incoming clearing enquiries (telephone, email, webforms and socials), ensuring that the data provided by the applicant is accurate and that the enquiry has been forwarded to the correct academic or relevant member of admissions staff.
2. To ensure that all clearing enquiries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
3. To assist with the confirmation of student offers
4. To assist with qualification checking as part of the registration process
5. To ensure the data quality of applicant records for university returns and UKVI purposes

Skills and experience
We are looking for enthusiastic team players with excellent customer service skills who are able to contribute to the wider team whilst working independantly. A high level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential requirements, as is the ability to quickly acquire and utilise knowledge of University and sector procedures, structures and regulatory frameworks. Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a professional, courteous and friendly persona is essential.
