Role
Our illustrious client is pushing the boundaries of innovation in the energy sector, developing a groundbreaking app, ready for soft launch and live deployment. You'll have a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a real, tangible product, gaining invaluable experience working alongside a PhD student at University of Staffordshire.
They are looking for a motivated and talented Assistant Developer to join the team. You'll play a vital role in developing and maintaining their innovative mobile and web applications. This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment, with exposure to the latest technologies and potential involvement in some live AI projects.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a mobile app using React Native.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of web applications using ReactJS.
- Develop and maintain server-side applications using NodeJS and ExpressJS.
- Manage and maintain SQL databases.
- Participate in the live production and ongoing development of the mobile app.
- Collaborate with a PhD student on the research and development aspects of the project.
- Contribute the upkeep of the company website.
- Potentially work with and integrate live AI functionalities.
- Gain new skills through the research aspect of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).
Skills and experience
- Must be proficient in JavaScript.
- Experience with ReactJS and React Native would be advantageous.
- Experience with NodeJS and ExpressJS would be preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL databases.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Mobile app development experience.
- Exposure to AI technologies.

Additional information
- Part-time position: 20 hours per week.
- Pay: £14.00 to £17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
