Role

Unitemps are recruiting for a Behavioural Science Research Assistant. This is a full-time role at 36.5 hours per week. This role is for April 23rd start date and has a projected end date of until July 31st 2025. Payment is set at £21.14 per hour + holiday pay. This role will hybrid working with 2 days per week from the office.

We are seeking a fixed-term Research Assistant to lead the day-to-day delivery of a project being delivered by the Centre for Behaviour Change [CBC] which will apply behavioural science to address conflict of interest disclosures at UCL. This research will be used to support the implementation of UCL’s Disclosure of Conflict and Declaration of Interest Policy.

The Research Assistant will be based at the CBC, and work under the supervision of Dr Sadie Boniface (Principal Research Fellow and Research Lead at the CBC).

Duties and responsibilities

The project will use qualitative research methods alongside theory and frameworks developed at the Centre for Behaviour Change, to complete a Behavioural Diagnosis around a target behaviour relating to staff conflict of interest disclosures. 
 
In parallel, a Strategic Behavioural Analysis of UCL’s existing training and guidance regarding conflict of interest disclosures will also be conducted.

Skills and experience

Essential
  • Degree (2:1 or higher) in a behavioural science (e.g. psychology, economics, anthropology, sociology, human geography)
  • Experience of conducting theory-based qualitative research
  • Understanding and experience of methods for developing and evaluating behaviour change interventions
  • Good knowledge of behavioural science theories, methods and frameworks
  • Able to organise own activities efficiently and to a high standard
  • Attention to detail in following procedures and day-to-day coordination of projects
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently, and to take the initiative to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects
  • Good qualitative data analysis skills
  • Able to work well with academic and non-academic colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Postgraduate degree (MA or MSc) in behaviour change or a closely related field
  • Experience of successful multidisciplinary collaborative research involving non-academic stakeholders

UCL; hybrid working with 2 days per week from the office
