Description
Role
To assist the Senior Invigilator to manage an examination room of centrally timetabled examinations.
To invigilate examinations to ensure compliance with the University’s Examination Regulations by students and the University.
To ensure all students have a consistent experience of examinations in a secure, confidential and appropriate environment.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the tasks involved we will be unable to accept applications from current Warwick undergraduate or postgraduate taught students on this occasion. We would, however, welcome applications from current PHD students provided you do not already have a GTA contract with the University of Warwick.
Duties and responsibilities
- To assist with the management of an examination session ensuring documented processes, procedures and regulations are followed, supervise, and allocate specific tasks to, the supporting invigilator(s) during the examination session, including but not limited to:
- Assist with laying out examination materials;
- Assist with recording attendance and checking identity;
- Assist with collecting and reconciling examination scripts
- To allow students entry to the examination room ensuring compliance with the examination regulations;
- To ensure, if assisting within an Alternative Exam Arrangements room, that specific reasonable adjustments are provided for individual students in line with the instructions from the Examination Team;
- Assist to ensure absent students are correctly recorded;
- Assist to report all queries on examination papers to the Examination Team;
- Assist to report suspected breaches of examination regulations and/or suspicious student behaviour to the Examination Team and ensure the relevant documentation is completed and submitted;
- Any other duties as required by the Examinations Manager and Administrative Officers commensurate with the requirements and responsibilities of the role.
Skills and experience
- Good level of education (A level or equivalent qualifications or experience)
- Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to give clear and accurate instructions.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Ability to follow documented processes and procedures.
- Ability to comply with and enforce the University Examination Regulations.
- A flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changes at short notice.
- Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality, with an awareness of GDPR.
- Availability to work in the early evening and Saturdays.
- Willingness to undertake training.
- Additional information
- Compulsory online training is required alongside an in-person training session, will take place prior to the commencement of the role.
