Unitemps are recruiting for a Teaching Spaces Audit Assistant within the Estates Administration department. The role is to work the date of 23rd April 2025 and will run until 23rd may 2025 part time at 15 hours per week . Payment is set at £15.48+ holiday pay per hour and the role will be CAMPUS based.

The Teaching Spaces Operations team at UCL is based in the Estates department and has responsibility for the management of all centrally bookable teaching spaces at UCL. Over the next few months the team will be undertaking an audit and condition survey of all 426 teaching spaces.
We are seeking a part-time assistant (15 hours per week) for upcoming works in data gathering, room setup, reporting, and predominantly this person will also assist the upcoming teaching spaces audit and condition survey.

Duties and responsibilities
We would like to have someone to join our small team of auditors and room setters to ensure the audit runs smoothly and provides a high-quality output. In this role, you will assist in collecting and entering the data, which will be gathered into a spreadsheet, including taking and uploading photos as necessary. The role will also assist with setting up rooms according to layouts and ensuring furniture is correctly positioned.

Due to the requirement of empty rooms to conduct the audit, the main hours for this role will consist of 5-8pm Monday - Friday, manoeuvring around campus with the team of auditors, setting up rooms, taking photos, and gathering data. If the candidate is flexible in hours, this will be beneficial. The job is predominantly on campus, based at our Bloomsbury site, with occasional travel to UCL East in Stratford and The Royal Free Hospital.

Skills and experience
Essential

  • Experience in using Microsoft Office products including MS Teams and Excel.
  • Experience in taking measurements using rulers and measuring tapes.
  • Attention to detail, being able to spot issues or damage to walls, lighting, carpets and other room fabric and facilities.
  • A good communicator, and team worker.
  • A methodical approach to completing tasks.
  • The ability to follow plans and diagrams to put furniture in the correct place in classrooms, considering health and safety aspects as required.

Desirable but Not Necessary

  • Any CAD experience used in room planning
  • An interest in the design, planning, and use of spaces in which learning takes place
