Description

Role
*Ringfenced to LJMU students*Host, cage-like, molecules can increase solubility and stability of pharmaceutically active compounds through the formation of host-guest molecule inclusion complexes.  Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is known as a sensitive technique to measure such interactions quantitatively. NMR will be used to measure the extent of inclusion inside the host molecule towards pharmaceutical validation.

Duties and responsibilities
The main duties include:

  • The preparation and running of NMR samples.
  • Quantitative work-up of the data.

Skills and experience

  • Previous lab experience is preferred.
  • Drive and enthusiasm is key.
