The successful candidate will work with Dr Jess Hall, Dr Blessing Marandure and Dr Saima Noreen in the Division of Psychology, to assist with a research project exploring student experiences of belonging at DMU. 

The role is expected to commence 1st May 2025 and is expected to be completed by 31st July 2025.  The total hours of work required will be no more than 52.5 There are 6 hours of on-campus focus groups and the rest of the hours can be completed either on-campus or remotely.

Duties and responsibilities
The research assistant will support with data collection (focus groups) and they will also be required to transcribe audio data from focus groups.

Skills and experience

Essential criteria:

Must be punctual, reliable and professional.

Must have excellent communication skills (be able to follow instructions and have good written and verbal communication skills).

Must be able to work with a high degree of independence.

Must have good attention-to-detail for transcription work.

Desirable criteria:

An understanding of research methods in social sciences and/or experience transcribing audio data is desirable.
