Role
The postholder will support business as usual activities, which will help staff within the Quality & Partnerships Directorate to focus on the immediate priority of aligning academic regulations in the recently merged University. This is a 4 month temp contract.
Duties and responsibilities
The post holder will be an initial point of contact in the Quality and Partnerships Directorate, and will be able to deal with enquiries and initial requests for information and guidance. The post holder will work with the Senior Quality Assurance and Enhancement Manager and other staff to ensure that an efficient and effective service is offered. There is likely to be significant breadth within the role, and activities will be a mixture of proactive and planned, and reactive as opportunities become apparent. The post holder will be required to work as part of a team and at times autonomously.
Quality Assurance and Enhancement:• Provide support to institutional or school-based quality assurance and enhancement activities as required, these may relate to alignment with the OfS Conditions of Registration, QAA guidance and monitoring degree outcomes.
- Write or contribute to quality assurance related reports. This may include conducting research, analysing data or completing mapping exercises to support the report.
- Provide advice to course teams and monitoring committees on programme modifications, ensuring that they are made in line with processes.
- Ensure that programme specifications and programme regulations are verified, reissued and uploaded to the website.
- Partnerships
- Support committees and groups in place to support partnership working where duties will include attendance at meetings, the preparation of papers, taking minutes and initiating follow up work.
- Support for partnership approval process and contract preparation, as directed by the Director for Quality and Partnerships
- Support and, where appropriate, co-ordinate research and the due diligence process with colleagues to inform strategic and operational decision-making in respect of partnerships.
- Work with the Director for Quality and Partnerships on supporting internal staff with new partnership proposals.
- Revise, maintain and monitor the partnership register.
- Support the institutional review of partnerships as required.
- Additional duties appropriate to the grade and as required to support service delivery.

Qualifications
Essential
- First degree or equivalent or experience of working in a university setting.
Experience

- Familiarity with programme-based quality assurance processes. Experience of minute taking and/or report writing.
Knowledge/ Skills
Essential
- Proven organisation skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
- Good practical IT skills (including Microsoft Office, Skype, VC and a good understanding of Excel spreadsheets and databases).
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Personal Attributes The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to plan and prioritise own workload in order to meet deadlines with minimal supervision, knowing when to take initiative and when to seek advice.

- Ability to analyse problems and to advise on appropriate solutions.
- Adaptable to unforeseen challenges and changes.
