Role
We’re looking for a Brake NVH Specialist to join our client’s facility in Coventry. This is a hands-on role for someone with deep expertise in brake system noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis, testing, and problem-solving. If you have a strong background in automotive NVH and want to work on cutting-edge braking technology, this could be the perfect opportunity.
Duties and responsibilities
- Carrying out NVH analysis using tools like FEA, Modal Analysis, and Multi-Body Dynamics.
- Designing and conducting lab and on-road tests to assess brake noise, pedal feel, and vibration.
- Investigating NVH issues, identifying root causes, and proposing design changes.
- Collecting and interpreting data from physical tests and simulations.
- Working closely with brake system designers to recommend improvements.
- Using software such as MATLAB, LMS, Abaqus, and ANSYS for NVH simulation and analysis.
- Collaborating with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet NVH performance targets.
- Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.
Skills and experience
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in automotive NVH, ideally focused on brake systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of brake system components, NVH testing methods, and software.
- Experience with NVH test equipment and data analysis tools.
- The ability to solve complex NVH issues and clearly present findings to different teams.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to brake noise and vibration.
Desirable:
- Experience with advanced brake technologies such as electric and regenerative braking.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques for predictive NVH analysis.
- Understanding of acoustic treatments and damping solutions.
