The Projects Officer will provide support to a range of activities to support the project. The role involves working closely with the Professor of Creativity & Innovation and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the project and processes are effectively managed from start to completion, contributing to the overall success.

The role will be working 18.5 hours per week from April until December 2025.

Duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:.

1.       Support the Professor of Creativity & Innovation in developing and implementing action plans to achieve desired outcomes in the project.

2.       Collaborate with key stakeholders to define the objectives and deliverables of the project and activities. This includes internal stakeholders, the wider university, and external partners.

3.       Review and report on the progress of project/plan, addressing issues as they arise and escalating appropriately when necessary. This involves identifying and managing project dependencies, risks, and issues, as well as overseeing timelines and milestones to ensure effective monitoring.

4.       Ensure project and plan are delivered within budget and meet quality requirements.

5.       Undertake evaluation activities to identify “lessons learned” and provide recommendations for best practices.

6.       Employ continuous improvement methodologies and practices to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of operations, processes, and systems.

7.Coordinate and lead the administration of processes

8.   Organise and coordinate key meetings and events, producing action notes where required, and ensuring good communication and timely coordination with members.

9.   Perform any other duties that are consistent with the nature and grade of the post, as reasonably required by the University.

 

Skills and experience

  • Educated to degree level, or with equivalent qualification or experience
    (Art, Design, media, business or a Creative discipline would be desirable)
  • Experience of planning and reviewing complex processes and procedures
  • Experience of working in a complex environment, prioritising conflicting demands, and working to tight deadlines
  • Experience of managing and improving projects
  • and processes
  • Experience of arranging and coordinating events
  • including stakeholder events
  • Experience of working within the Higher Education sector and/or with multi-partner projects
  • Experience of preparing complex papers and reports and taking minutes
  • Understanding of confidentiality and the requirements of the Data Protection Act
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving and the ability to use initiative
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness on occasion to attend events outside of core working hours
  • Ability to provide a service to a diverse range of people to promote good relations and equality
