Role

Unitemps are recruiting for a Assistant Accommodation Advisor within the Student Accommodation department. The role is to work ASAP and will run until 5th October 2025 full time at 36.5 hours per week . Payment is set at £14.64+ holiday pay per hour and the role will be CAMPUS based.
 
The Grade 3 Assistant Accommodation Advisor role involves providing a meet and greet front of house service as well as supporting all back-office functions, providing administration support across all of the sites. 
Supporting open days, intake days and departures as well as assisting day to day visitors, students and external contacts.
 
The ideal candidate will be able to provide a cheerful reception service to all students and visitors and will ensure that the highest level of customer service is maintained as well as acting as a role model for excellent service delivery.

Duties and responsibilities
The job role includes, but is not limited to

  • Welcoming visitors and contractors to the properties
  • Ensuring relevant security and identity checks are carried out and their presence is recorded as well as key management operations
  • Customer service is at the forefront of this job role and therefore requires following up on any customer related issues requiring action in a timely manner
  • Engaging with other colleagues and providing a decisive and effective response to customer complaints such as maintenance issues, and assisting in and resolving customer disputes and escalating where necessary

This is an administration heavy role using systems including StarRez, Maintaining logs both hardcopy files and online, MS Excel spreadsheets, ensuring customer data is accurate, secure and compliant with the Data Protection Act and all UCL policies. Additionally, it is crucial that Health and Safety legislation is adhered to at all times.

Teamwork is essential in working collaboratively to help support the department to deliver its mission statement and broader objectives. The applicant must have a flexible approach to work and a willingness to undertake all reasonable duties at the request of the Deputy Accommodation Managers or Accommodation Manager.

Skills and experience
This role requires 

  • Previous experience in a customer facing and administrative role, whereby the individual can demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Additionally, applicants must be computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office
  • The applicant should show capability to work at pace whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • They should also be self-motivated and be able to manage their own time effectively, using their own initiative to prioritise tasks when required and multitask to meet deadlines.
  • The applicant should be able to take an objective, professional and calm approach when handling difficult situations and should be highly skilled in understanding, empathising and delivering against customer needs. 
  • The applicant should also demonstrate the ability to build relationships internally as well as with third party suppliers. Applicant must also be flexible with working hours to take part in a rota.
  • Previous experience working within accommodation, hospitality or retail sectors as well as in complaint handling is advantageous.
