Role
The WBS Undergraduate CareersPlus Team provides a specialised careers service solely for Undergraduate (UG) Warwick Business School students. We are looking for a Communications & Engagement Ambassador to support our UG service and to shape our online and face to face experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage the UG Linkedin efficiently and promptly, including creating a minimum of 3 engaging posts weekly, as well as continuously reviewing my.wbs careers pages
- Support with online engagement and identify ways to increase post reach
- Signpost students to existing online resources throughout the year
- Coordinate and develop new careers related online content such as TikTok style videos, blogs, vlogs and articles in sync with careers related activities and events
- Deliver feedback and new ideas to the Careers Service on the feedback and analysis of Social Media Posts
- Provide communication and support for any in person events, such as the Placement Year Awards, Employer Engagement Days, Mock Assessment centres, and more
- Work collaboratively with the other WBS UG Careers Ambassadors to deliver holistic campaigns throughout the year on and offline
- Promote different campaigns/initiatives, e.g. welcome back talks, lecture shout-outs
- Proactively design and disseminate careers information and events using a wide range of online tools, including Canva and Linkedin
- Collaborate with internal Marketing department to further support increase of student engagement with CareersPlus
- Support WBS CareersPlus Visibility engagement initiatives, such as creating longer promotional audio/visual content (e.g. how to access CareersPlus for faculty)
- To engage with WBS academics/lecturers across all WBS modules and present in lectures/seminars your own learned experience the importance of undertaking work experience (e.g. a placement year/internship) and how these can impact specific employability skills and how the learning outcomes from these modules are applicable to real-world employment practice
- Deliver speeches at key events in the year, such as the Student Support – Welcome to CareersPlus session at Butterworth Hall
Skills and experience
Essential
- WBS Student for the 2025-26 academic year
- Prepared to work up to 5 hours a week for this role from September to May (hours are flexible)
- Experience in managing social media accounts and increasing social media followers
- Previous experience in managing social media account(s) and content creation
- Previous experience of public speaking to large audiences
Desirable
- Experience in creating video blogs or Instagram takeovers
- Previous experience in marketing/social media account roles
- Experience in Digital and physical communications
- Affiliations with student societies (WBSS, WFS, WCS, WAFS)
Location
Combination of working from home and on campus (must be in the UK)
