Role

Unitemps are recruiting for a Technical Services Technician (Retail and 3D Printing support). This is a full-time role at 36.5 hours per week. This role is for an asap start date and will be for 6 months (with a projected end date of October 1st 2025.) Payment is set at £16.53 per hour + holiday pay. This role will be fully UCL on campus based working.

B-made 'The Bartlett Manufacturing and Design Exchange' 

B-made operates workshops as multidisciplinary centres. Bartlett School of Architecture staff and students, and UCL Here East partners, are invited to use B-made for their projects, from concept and design stages through to completion. B-made's aim is to merge crafts and manufacturing with science, technology and design, shifting towards new models of learning.

This is an agile role that will cover duties in the B-made hub (retail shop) across our 22 Gordon Street and Here East site. The role will also support the 3D Printing team in its service provision.

Duties and responsibilities

The Technical Services Technician will work both independently and in coordination with B-made managers and colleagues to support services provided in B-made. 
 
The post holder will be required to work in various capacities, ensuring essential services are supported during staff annual leave absences so must be flexible and able to deliver a variety of duties such as;
  • Providing customer focussed service to all users of the workshop.
  • Working in the 3D Printing department performing file checking, file preparation, machine maintenance, print cleaning, costing, and liaising with clients.
  • Working in the B-made Shops transacting sales, re-stocking shelves, checking students into the workshop.

Skills and experience

  • Retail and customer service experience - essential
  • 3D Printing experience - desirable
  • CAD (Computer Aided Design) experience - desirable

UCL; fully on campus
