Role
*Ringfenced to undergraduate LJMU students on relevant courses and University of Liverpool students studying on the joint Astrophysics course*
We have 4 paid internship positions for 6 weeks work between the start of June and the end of July. The Astro Research Internship is an opportunity for undergraduate students who have completed at least 2 years of study to work on a current research project at the Astrophysics Research Institute, Liverpool John Moores University. There are multiple project opportunities, including work with leading researchers at the ARI and in engineering/software for the New Robotic Telescope team. The internship provides experience working in an active research environment, and is ideal for students considering a career in astronomy related research.
Duties and responsibilities
The applicants main duties will include:
- Independent and self-motivated work towards defined project goals
- Gaining and understanding of their research topic and methods
- Writing a project report and presentation for the general ARI faculty detailing details of the project and progress made
Skills and experience
Undergraduate students with 2 years STEM subject course.
