Role
Assist kitchen teams with day to day running and cleaning of kitchen, carry out wash up duties for all areas.

Duties and responsibilities

• Loading and emptying dish washing machines and checking items for cleanliness and rectify if necessary, to ensure high standards of cleanliness.• Hand wash and pre-wash larger and greasier items that will not fit in to the dish washing machine. 
• Sweeping and mopping kitchen areas, cleaning of walls and kitchen equipment in line with departmental Standing Operating Procedures.
• Take rubbish out from kitchens and separate it for recycling and waste into the appropriate waste disposal systems including compactors.
• To assist with the day to day running and cleaning of all food and drink related areas including kitchens and wash up areas.• Service staff room - Empty bins, clean tables, sweep and mop flooring, replenish vending machines, restock plates and cutlery.
• Assist with stock movement as requested.
• Ensure compliance with: Departmental standards and legislation, All food health and safety regulations including COSHH
• To ensure storage areas and loading bays are maintained and cleaned as per the cleaning schedules and department procedures

Skills and experience

• GCSE or equivalent experience.
• Some experience in similar post but full training given.
• Willing to be trained in Basic Food Hygiene (Certificate), COSHH, Manual handling, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Food Allergens.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow Standing Operating Procedures.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
