Entropix Ltd is a dynamic young biotech business created in 2021 and is based in laboratories at The Heath Business &Technical Park, Runcorn, UK. At Entropix, we aim to improve the performance of enzymes used in a variety of industries, including plastics recycling, diagnostics, life sciences research and pharmaceuticals. Our technology for the development of enzymes relies on unique skills and capabilities in genetic engineering, computational gene sequence analysis, enzyme structure analysis and machine learning. We have also developed novel technology for the purification of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) which is being commercialised with major global customers.

Duties and responsibilities
R&D is crucial to the future success of Entropix. 
 

The role of Research Assistant will be responsible for laboratory experiments in molecular biology including: 
- Purification of nucleic acids 
- Cloning, gene sequencing, fermentation 
- Developing and running protein/enzyme expression systems (in vivo and in vitro) 
- Purification, analysis and screening of enzymes

Skills and experience
- General capabilities in biology research and laboratory applications 

- Scientific data analysis and report writing 
- Strong technical presentation and communications skills 
- Ability to work independently and to collaborate within a small team 
- Degree (BSc) or equivalent (level 6) in a relevant field (e.g. molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, computational biology)
