Description
Role
Our client is looking for someone to assist with the insolvency process for a diverse range of clients. This is a role where no experience is required (although it would be advantageous). As a junior in the practice all training will be provided.
Duties and responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of insolvency cases.
- Liaising with creditors and other parties affected by insolvency.
- Reviewing payroll records to determine the statutory entitlements of former employees of our clients and liaise with the Redundancy Payments Service to facilitate their claims.
- Reviewing all pension arrangements of our clients and ensure that all relevant statutory notifications are issued.
- Liaise with HMRC in respect of proposed appointments over our clients.
- Prepare and issue VAT and CT returns as appropriate. Also dealing with potential Terminal Loss Relief claims.
- Reporting directly to the Insolvency Practitioner on case strategy and progression.
- Working with agents to dispose of assets and collect debts, where necessary.
- Investigating the financial affairs and transactions of insolvent companies and the conduct of directors.
- Reviewing the financial statements of our clients, as well as subsequent management accounts, liaising with directors to prepare statements of affairs and financial reports.
- Preparation of receipts and payments accounts and producing statutory compliant progress reports to members and creditors.
- Assist with the adjudication of creditor claims and the declaration of any resulting dividends.
- Preparation of budgets (fee estimates) for our cases and liaising with creditors to seek approval.
- Working on solvent liquidations and dealing with distributions to members in the most tax efficient way possible.
Skills and experience
No experience required (although it would be advantageous). All training will be provided. A good knowledge of Excel and Word is a must.
