Role
The University of Edinburgh’s Information Services Group (ISG) are hiring at least six undergraduate students to work as Learn Foundations Interns this summer. The key purpose of this role is to ensure that course materials across the Learn platform are accessible, up-to-date, and prepared for the return of students in September 2025.
Within this role, you will gain practical experience in conducting accessibility audits and quality assuring the Learn template. At the end of this internship, you will have achieved the following outcomes: completed a review of the 2025-2026 Learn courses, completed an accessibility audit for all schools at the University, and produced a report on your findings. You will join the Educational Design and Engagement team who are responsible for providing a wide range of technologies and support for innovative learning and teaching, including blended learning tools, Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), course development, online video, open education resources, taught online Masters programmes and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
You can expect to start work on the 2nd June 2025 and work until the 22nd August 2025. You will work 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) in a hybrid working pattern split between working from home (commutable distance from Edinburgh), and in Argyle House. You will be expected to work in-person for the first two weeks for training, after this you will be expected to work in Argyle House a minimum of two days per week. You will be paid £12.67 per hour, plus £2.29 per hour holiday pay. Payment is one month in arrears, meaning your first payment date (should this position start when expected) will be 28th July 2025.
For more information on what to expect as an ISG Summer Intern and to hear from previous interns, please see our ISG Student Employment website.
