Role

The School of Health, Education and Policing are looking for a Research Assistant. If research is your passion this is the perfect opportunity for you!

The Research Assistant will provide administrative support on capturing qualitative data relating to community researching in the health and inequalities sector. The REN project is a NHS England linked project and as such, the researcher is handling confidential information. The researcher will be managed by Associate Professor Sarah Page at Staffordshire University. The data will be processed in accordance with GDPR and University policy and the projects ethical approval status and the University confidentiality policy. The applicant will have had prior training in collecting and processing qualitative data. This post would suit an undergraduate or post graduate student studying a social science course such as Criminology, Sociology, Psychology.  

Duties and responsibilities

  • The Research Assistant will attend meetings to discuss and implement the project. 
  • The Research Assistant will seek feedback from the research manager and make relevant amendments to work.
  • The Research Assistant will transcribe verbatim data.
  • The Research Assistant will colour code thematically the data.
  • The Research Assistant will undertake other research related duties.

Skills and experience
Successful candidates needs to have existing experience of transcription research assistant work.
