Description
Role
Duties and responsibilities
- Work with central, faculty and departmental colleagues to identify potential Impact Case Study authors in need of priority support with evidence collection.
- Establish evidence collection strategies for potential Impact Case Study authors to ensure the appropriate data are obtained, collated, analysed and stored effectively.
- Support academics in obtaining evidence of research impact, including requesting testimonials, conducting surveys and carrying out interviews.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping, monitoring and tracking processes are established and followed, according to UCL guidance and individual need.
- Monitor and evaluate impact work across the Faculty, supporting a wide and inclusive culture of impact.
- Liaise with central professional services teams supporting impact, including colleagues in UCL Research, Innovation and Global Engagement (RIGE).
- Maintain knowledge and develop expertise in REF 2029 as decisions are made and guidance is announced, communicating requirements with colleagues as appropriate.
- Maintain awareness of and actively follow UCL policies and regulations.
- Undertake training and continuing professional development as required.
Skills and experience
Qualifications, experience and knowledge:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience of conducting academic research within the humanities or social sciences, interviewing, writing, editing and proof-reading or experience of research development.
- Experience of presenting complex detailed and specialist information in authoritative and compelling forms, and of communicating to a wide range of audiences.
- Experience of recording, interpreting and analysing data.
- Postgraduate degree or equivalent experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of the Research Excellence Framework and experience of developing evaluation strategies for impact or engagement activities (desirable).
Skills and abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and discretion, and the ability to liaise appropriately and effectively with colleagues and partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, record keeping ability and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, including working efficiently on numerous projects simultaneously.
- Excellent IT skills (including Excel) and ability to learn and adapt to new digital tools and online platforms.
