Role
Student Research Intern – for PGT students currently studying in, Warwick Medical School (WMS), Centre of Lifelong Learning (CLL) and School of Life Sciences (SLS).
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Student Research Intern to support a research project exploring student perspectives on the effectiveness of current feedback practices and the co-creation of marking rubrics. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build your CV and if you are interested in educational research, assessment practices, and student engagement. Prior experience in research is desirable but not essential and student interns will be fully supported by the academic team. There are 2 positions available, both for 21 weeks. One starting on 14/4/25, the other starting ASAP.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead the design, distribution, and analysis of surveys and/or interviews with students and educators.
- Contribute to data collection, coding, and preliminary analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
- Organising and facilitate focus groups or discussions with students.
- Collaborate in drafting reports, presentations, creating new rubrics and potential academic publications based on research findings.
- Collaborate with the research team to ensure ethical considerations and data integrity.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings and maintaining research documentation.
Skills and experience
- Currently enrolled as a PGT student at WMS, CLL or SLS.
- Interest in assessment, feedback, and student engagement in higher education.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in engaging with peers and faculty members.
- Efficient in basic research skills
- Familiarity with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn data analysis software if required.
