Unitemps are acting as an Employment Business, supplying temporary workers, in relation to this vacancy.
Research Consulting is a mission-driven research and scholarly communication consultancy supporting stakeholder across the research ecosystem. This includes research funders, government departments, academic publishers, universities and not-for-profit organisations.
We are submitting a proposal to Wellcome to support the implementation of their Community Engagement Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework across multiple international partners.
The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the above project by conducting relevant research and supporting interviews. We are looking for someone with a good understanding of public health and/or community engagement in Asia particularly in Thailand and Vietnam

Duties and responsibilities
- Support desk research activities, for example supporting a literature review into community engagement frameworks in public health and identifying key networks
- Supporting the identification of interviewees in Thailand and Vietnam and making initial approaches
- Conducting interviews with stakeholders in Thailand and Vietnam and sharing recordings, transcripts and findings summaries
- Reviewing outputs from the project and providing insights into local context that could improve the outputs.
- Attending some meetings with other members of the project team to share progress updates and findings
- Joining some meetings with Wellcome
Skills and experience
- Background in public health, life sciences or related field (preferred)
- Understanding of community engagement principles (desired)
- Excellent communication skills in English plus Thai and/or Vietnamese
- Experience in research/academic environments
- Strong interpersonal and cultural awareness skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of an international team
- Experience with qualitative research methods is beneficial

Additional information
Start Date: End of April 2025
End Date: The duration of the project is approximately 12 months. Peak project phases will fall between May and June 2025 and July 2025 and March 2026. There may be some periodic check-ins between these times.
Shifts and Times: Typically 09:00 – 17:30
Pay Rate: £15
Holiday Pay: £1.81
Working location: Flexible/Remote Working
Dress Code: None if remote. Smart casual if joining any client meetings
