Role
This Student Ambassador role will represent and support the engagement and activity carried out by the GRID Business and Enterprise directorate

Duties and responsibilities

  • Operations administrative support; planning and scheduling meetings for the B&E team and senior management, recording meeting minutes, data entry, support with preparing reports and monitoring central email inboxes.
  • Marketing administration support: Support the promotion of GRID Enterprise services and events through the creation of digital promotional assets and event webpages.
  • Team working; Communicate effectively with fellow student ambassadors to ensure efficient working practices.
  • Event planning support; liaising with internal and external suppliers to arrange catering, room bookings and other logistics.
  • Information Management; Reporting and maintaining databases and filing systems.
  • Support the Enterprise Coordinator in liaising with organisational members of GRID.

Skills and experience

Essential:

  1. Experience of working within a similar environment as outlined above.
  2. Competent in the use of relevant IT packages.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. An understanding of Heriot Watt University's schools and subject areas.
  5. Demonstrable professional and proactive approach.
  6. Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing environment.
  7. Experience of team working and effectiveness as a good team player with a can-do attitude.
  8. Willingness to learn.

Desirable but not essential:

  1. Competent is creative software(s) (e.g. Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud).
  2. Experience of using CRM system (e.g. Salesforce).
