Role
This Student Ambassador role will represent and support the engagement and activity carried out by the GRID Business and Enterprise directorate.
Duties and responsibilities
For role 1 (Schools: EBS, SOSS, EGIS, SoTD, MACS)
- Promote GRID enterprise services within these schools.
- Engage with students and faculty to raise awareness of available resources.
- Organize and participate in outreach events.
- Provide feedback on outreach effectiveness.
- Represent GRID and communicate effectively with fellow ambassadors.
- Report weekly to the Enterprise Executive.
For role 2 (Departments: H&C, iNETz, Lyell, Robotics & AI, Q&P):
- Promote GRID enterprise services within these departments.
- Foster connections between students, faculty, and GRID.
- Coordinate and support outreach initiatives.
- Gather and report on outreach metrics.
- Represent GRID in a professional manner.
- Report weekly to the Enterprise Executive.
Skills and experience
Experience:
- Involvement in student organizations, public speaking, and teamwork.
- Previous volunteer or part-time roles demonstrating relevant skills.
Training:
- Participation in relevant university workshops or training programs.
- Willingness to undergo additional role-specific training.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program.
- Strong academic performance.
- Understanding of Heriot-Watt University’s schools and subject areas.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive approach.
Authorization:
- Must have legal authorization to work part-time while in this role (e.g., student visa compliance).
