Description
Role
You will develop core skills in delegate sales, marketing and relationship management, while gaining unique insight from world leaders, policymakers, business leaders and opinion makers who regularly speak at our events.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not suitable for a current student as this is a full time role.
Duties and responsibilities
Main responsibilities
- Securing paying delegates across our conferences portfolio in line with revenue targets and goals;
- Manage and build relationships with prospective delegates to generate new business and repeat bookings year-on-year;
- Proactively develop an understanding of our content areas and utilize your market knowledge to engage with our target audience;
- Assist in account management of conference delegates including event communications and joining instructions;
- Provide analysis of registered and prospective delegates at regular project team meetings;
- Act as a point of contact for delegates and respond to conference enquiries in an appropriate and timely manner via email and over the phone;
- Attend project and team meetings as required and provide updates;
- Assist with leads generated from our multi-channel marketing campaigns and convert into bookings;
- Process conference delegate registrations and payments
- Play an active role within the department to assist team members with other tasks such as social media campaigns as required.
Skills and experience
Skills
- Ability to engage and build rapport quickly with prospective delegates;
- Confident communication skills when engaging potential and existing prospects via email and over the phone;
- A willingness to contribute to collective objectives and work across teams and with individuals at all levels, with sensitivity and diplomacy;
- Knowledge of social media and marketing platforms with a creative and compelling approach to copywriting;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal);
- Ability to prioritize and take initiative;
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Discretion in handling confidential information.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in a professional office environment with knowledge of CRM management (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics) and sales processes;
- Experience of working in a think-tank, research institute or, NGO;
- Sales or marketing experience, ideally but not limited to conferences and/or events.
