Role
The Wellbeing & Safeguarding Group covers a wide range of services including Wellbeing and Student Support (Wellbeing Support, Disability Services and Counselling & Psychotherapy Services), Residential Community Team, Community Safety, Children’s Services, Staff Wellbeing and Safeguarding. We are committed to providing professional services that are tailored to individual requirements and aimed at enabling students to successfully complete their studies and enhance their student experience.
Duties and responsibilities
We are currently looking for an experienced Administrator with excellent customer service skills to work within Wellbeing and Student Support on a fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the implementation and operation of administrative services within the team, by ensuring the provision of high level professional, confidential and comprehensive administrative support, to enable the wider Wellbeing team to operate smoothly and efficiently.
This could potentially be a great opportunity for someone who already has administrative experience and is looking to work in a student-facing role in the centre of campus.
Skills and experience
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent, including GCSE Maths & English to grade C
- IT qualification or relevant experience
- Previous experience of HE institutions/working with students would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience of working with confidential and sensitive information and personal data
- Experience of working in an emotional/ sensitive environment
- Experience of working effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrably excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and provide exemplary customer service skills, including a calm and warm demeanour
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to apply judgement to sensitive and demanding priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills
- Strong level of emotional resilience in order to manage, when presented with, severe issues or those in a highly emotional state
- Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and tact
- Good knowledge and understanding of the University’s policy on data protection, compliance and equality and diversity
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities, working quickly and accurately under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to be proactive, use initiative and to apply knowledge flexibly in a range of solutions
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
