Role
The Professional Services department are currently looking for a Quality Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis. 

Duties and responsibilities

• To respond professionally to queries from staff and students in relation to the academic integrity and extenuating circumstances process in a timely and efficient manner; to deal with any problems or issues raised by students or academic staff, offering advice or signposting them to other services and departments where necessary.

• Liaise with colleagues to gather and update information in relation to the Schools’ Quality Assurance processes (e.g. module evaluations, external examining, monitoring the timely return of student marks and feedback, academic misconduct reporting, study adjustments for disabled students, collating data on Assessment Boards).

• Collate data, organise meetings and provide administrative support to ensure the above processes run smoothly.

• Support the Quality Officers in updating and maintaining both internal and student facing quality information and communications (such as programme and module specifications, information on quality processes and details of student cases).

• To assist in the timely update and publication of student facing quality information such as programme handbooks.

• Supporting the Board of Studies sub-committees (e.g. Learning and Teaching Committee or Student Experience Committee) to ensure its effective administration.

• To work with Quality Officer, Quality Manager and other relevant staff to support the administration of the Extenuating Circumstances, Academic Misconduct and Appeals processes.

Skills and experience

- Experience of working in a busy customer focused office environment.

- Experience of working in Higher Education administration.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal with enquiries effectively and efficiently and with tact and diplomacy and deal comfortably with students and staff at all levels, in a variety of different situations.

- Ability to use initiative to identify potential solutions for problems and queries.

- Ability to plan and prioritise own work, to manage conflicting priorities, and to take a flexible and proactive approach to work and change.

- The ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, including when entering data and checking documents for accuracy.

- The ability to work with others in a team to achieve success including collaborating on projects or tasks.

- Confident in the use of IT systems, particularly the use of MS office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
