Description

Role
The University of Staffordshire Games Department are seeking an enthusiastic intern to be part of a team developing an exciting new project that focuses on creating a game to support vocabulary development.

 
This role will run alongside your current timetable, up to 8 hours per week with 20hrs per week when off timetable, for up to 24 weeks.
 
You must be a current L5 or L6 student with a high-quality online portfolio and good attendance for your application to be considered.
 

Duties and responsibilities
You will be expected to:

 
- Collaborate with a team to develop a game focusing on vocabulary development.
- Dedicate 8 hrs per week to refining and enhancing programming within the game.
- Engage in regular team meetings to discuss project progress, overcome challenges and brainstorm innovative game mechanics.
- Work closely with mentors from University of Staffordshire to polish the game.
- Ensure the game is prototype ready and can showcase proof of concept.
 
 

Skills and experience
You will need strong programming skills, preferably in C# and C++, and experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.

 
You will have a passion for games development and a collaborative mindset is essential.
 
You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to work effectively in a team.
